Earth VideoWorks Announces Receipt of Telly Award for just released DVD production "Spirit of the Southwest".

Phoenix, Arizona -- May 28, 2005 -- Earth VideoWorks announces the receipt of the prestigious Telly Award for its just released DVD production "Spirit of the Southwest - The Art of Amado M. Peña, Jr.".

For 26 years, Telly Awards have been given to honor the finest video and film productions in the world. The Telly is one of the most sought-after award by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and receives over 10,000 entries annually form all 50 states and many foreign countries. Last year's distinguished winners include among others, ABCNEWS.com, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Con Edison, Discovery Kids, ESPN, Microsoft Corporation, Miramax Films, NASA Television, Nike, Inc., The History Channel, Time Warner Cable and Xerox Corporation.

"Spirit of the Southwest - The Art of Amado M. Peña, Jr." presents over 150 works of Peña's unique art accompanied by Grammy Award winning Native American flute music by Mary Youngblood. Peña's work is the essence of the Southwest, with bold colors, forms and dynamic composition that capture a vision of a people, a land, and its art. A master printer, his serigraphs are noted for bold color schemes and strong graphic use of lines. His etchings convey quiet elegance in fine lines and soft color. The drama of his paintings is heightened by an intensity of hue and unexpected spatial relationships. Abstractions of the landscape merge with exaggerated human forms; blanket and pottery patterns further echo the shapes of the land. Mary Youngblood was a Grammy Award winner in 2003 for the vibrant release Beneath The Raven Moon. Many of the songs on that album and songs from her other releases, The Offering, Heart of the World, and 2005 Grammy nominated Feed The Fire accompany "Spirit of the Southwest".
